Creatine should be taken daily, including rest days, because the goal is to maintain saturated intramuscular creatine stores. Muscle protein synthesis remains elevated for 24 to 48 hours after a resistance training session, so protein intake on rest days supports the ongoing recovery and adaptation process. HMB, if used, should also be taken daily for consistent anti-catabolic support. The timing on rest days is less important than consistency. Taking supplements at the same time each day, regardless of whether you train, maintains steady physiological levels and builds the habit that ensures compliance over the weeks and months required to see measurable results.
